Brought in a hand-wound dress watch that hadn't been opened in about eight years. The timing after the service was well within what I'd expect for that calibre — noticeably better than before. The condition note was straightforward and described exactly what they'd replaced.

Had the case refinished on a stainless sports watch. The brushed surfaces came out well and the polished bevels looked right. A couple of deeper scratches on the case back are still visible — they told me that would likely be the case beforehand, so no complaint. Honest about what to expect.

The lume refresh made a real difference on a vintage automatic I use for night shifts. The hands now charge properly and stay visible. They left the dial untouched, which was the right call. The watch looks the same from the front, it just reads better in the dark.

I was sceptical about dropping a watch with a small independent shop, but the intake process was thorough and they explained everything clearly before I left the watch. Three weeks later it came back running steadily and the handover note had the timing figures on it. Will use again.

Waraporn Petchkrua
Chiang Mai (sent in)
Sent a watch in from Chiang Mai after emailing first. Communication before drop-off was clear. The case refinishing took about two weeks. The result is good — the brushed zones look consistent and the edges feel sharp again. The condition note they sent with it was useful to have.

My father's automatic hadn't been serviced in over a decade. It was stopping intermittently. After the complete service it's been running consistently for six weeks, within about plus-eight seconds a day. They found a worn mainspring and explained the replacement cost before touching anything. Appreciated the transparency.

Three examples from the workshop
1960s hand-wound dress watch — complete service
Challenge
The watch was stopping unpredictably, sometimes after a few hours of running, occasionally after a day. The owner had kept it as a daily wear and had not had it serviced since inheriting it roughly fifteen years earlier.
What we did
Full disassembly revealed a thickened main lubricant and a click spring that had weakened. The click spring was replaced and the movement ultrasonically cleaned and re-oiled throughout. Timing verified on four positions after reassembly.
Outcome
Running consistently, between +4 and +9 seconds per day depending on position — reasonable for the calibre's age. Owner collected it after 18 days. No further issues reported in the four weeks since collection.
Duration: 18 days
"I didn't expect it to run this well. They called before replacing the click spring — it was only an extra ฿600 but they still asked." — owner's note at collection
1980s automatic sports watch — case refinishing
Challenge
Heavy daily wear had left the case and integrated bracelet with significant surface scratching, particularly on the brushed flanks. The polished chamfers had also dulled and were no longer distinct from the brushed zones.
What we did
Each surface zone was worked separately. Brushed flanks re-grained in the original direction, polished chamfers re-cut with a lighter abrasive. The case back was cleaned but not refinished at the owner's request — the tool marks were something they wanted to keep.
Outcome
Surface scratching reduced substantially. Brushed and polished zones visually distinct again. Two deeper marks on the case back remain as requested. Work completed in 11 days.
Duration: 11 days
"The brushing looks right. It doesn't have that flat, over-polished look I was worried about." — client feedback
Military-style automatic — lume and hands refresh
Challenge
The owner worked irregular hours and relied on the watch for after-dark legibility. The lume on several hands had darkened and was no longer charging from ambient light. The minute hand showed no perceptible glow at all after dark.
What we did
Hands removed, cleaned ultrasonically. Degraded compound removed and replaced with material matching the original plot dimensions. Dial not touched — the owner was specific about this. Hands refitted and case resealed.
Outcome
All hands now charge and release legibly. Glow consistent across hour, minute, and seconds hands. The watch's visual character was unchanged — the dial still shows its original patina. Work completed in 6 days.
Duration: 6 days
"Exactly what I needed. The dial is untouched and I can actually read it now in low light." — owner
